Fridays are killer!! With this new schedule, both of my important classes happen in the morning. One is one hour thirty minutes, other is one hour forty-five minutes. Back-to-back o.O yeah.. was kinda dead.. when I walked out of class, suddenly Sonam appears and is like "Hey, we're going!" ...going...ooooh yeah, out with those girls he was talking to online yesterday..so went home, dropped off my stuff, and headed off to Sonam's place.
When I got there, there were all in P. Rinpoche's car all ready to go.. haha.. his sisters making him drive them around.. reminds me of just about every younger sibling of my friends that I know =P So we headed off into town where we would meet up with P. Rinpoche's sister's friend.
We got dropped off at New Road (main shopping area of Kathmandu), and started following the sisters and Puntsok Drolma (the daughter of the cook at the monastery) towards their destination. We ended up at some clothes mall.. uh oh =p Yup, they went shopping at all the girl stores.. and Sonam being the boring shopper that he is ^_~, we went through the shops w/ guy clothes REALLY quickly.. and proceeded to be very bored for the next hour.. but finally, everyone's stomaches got the better of them and we decided to go for lunch ^_^
We went to this Chinese restaurant called Nanglo at the end of New Road at Dubar Square. As soon as we enter the building the atmosphere appears completely different than outside.. it'd be like.. going to a nice restaurant in Hong Kong filled with Nepali people! haha. Boy was it amusing sitting down together at the table. Sonam hardly talked cept' for a few sentences =P Ahh kids hahaha. Well I found those people to be pretty interesting, after all I haven't met that many boarding school people yet, and their mentality seems quite different than other people. After eating, we ended up going to tourist downtown (Thamel)..
Where the women went window shopping some more o.O Yup, pretty tired now and we ended up losing Diki and Pratima.. haha Sonam sure got pretty annoyed/worried =p Finally they were done and we went home.
Nothing much else happened today except going up to Kora with Tsering and Sonam, then having dinner out at a Bhutanese restaurant with Kathy, Edna, Namdrul and Sonam. I swear I drink too much alcohol here.. it's like, a glass of wine or beer a day almost =P No i'm not like an alcoholic, it just gets offered.. yea =)
Hrmm, for those of you in America who have no idea what people's tastes in women here are.. well the Nepali seem to like Indian culture a lot.. and in India this one former Miss Universe or something is an uber-popular actress Aishwarya Rai --
That's from a famous movie 2 or 3 yrs ago.. I saw it when it came out over here w/ Buchong translating it for me.. haha =P Too bad Sonam doesn't want to see the new popular movie she's in (Devdas).. =P
