Today we played probably the most intense basketball match we've had. Played with our other team (jigdel, jigtak, sonam, me, tsering (that guy never wakes up) and gafel.. but that bastard went out and we had to get subs that we don't usually play with hehe). Double Overtime loss by 1 basket *tear*!
First quarter started really bad, as they went on a streak and played good defense and offense. We were down by 12 points at the end of the first. Quite frustrated, we played really hard and didn't let them lead more than that the next 2 quarters. 4th quarter, we started breaking down their offense and making more baskets. With around 15 seconds left, I got an open look at the basket. I managed to pull a Mike Bibby and tie the game! We went into overtime, end of 1st overtime I had a chance to win it, but the ball went in-and-out, Jigtak got the rebound, and made a turnaround jumper! But he let go of the ball a millisecond after the time ran out. 2nd overtime we kept it even until they broke us down in the end and we lost by 1 basket. Most of us played through all the quarters and the overtime, I thought I was going to die cuz i'm still sick >.< The other team had a full 10 players to sub.. grr.. Highlights of the game include Jigtak by the 3, lost his dribble, double teamed, and he lobbed the ball behind a defenders back back towards himself. Both defenders turned around looking at the basket leaving Jigtak wide open for the shot =P The crowd was quite ecstatic. Sonam made some good shots by the baseline and started getting physical for some and 1s later on (gets fouled and the basket counts). Besides the game tying shot at the end, another time I did a fake pass and their guard stumbled back, then a simple crossover to get wide open in the lane. Everytime we do any of the And1 moves the crowd goes nuts =P Too bad Gafel wasn't here today to show off his moves haha. Also, our team is half a head shorter than the other team, sometimes a head in general.. but we owned up the boards after the second quarter =P
Alas, this great game resulted in a loss. But all of us definitely learned a few things today.. so it was quite worth it =P Going to goto Boudha and do some koras now =)
