Something quite interesting about Nepal and it's mix of cultures... Nepalis celebrate New Years about 6 times in 12 months! Lunar new year, some other new year, nepali new year, english new year, etc. etc. etc... which = PARTY!!! ^__^ Today is the Nepali's New Year, so yesterday of course we had to go out and celebrate ^_~
Yesterday started off like another Sunday, bball at TBS, hanging out in town for lunch, etc. Afterwards, Sonam, Ap and I went over to the Hyatt to swim and chill. I haven't gone swimming in like months, it was pretty weird =P but fun heheh. We went around town again and new road to pick up some stuff for Sonam's guitar, and I was looking for this one CD (DJ Doll, don't laugh, hindi songs bring back damn many memories of the clubbing days here hahah =P), which I COULDNT FIND IN ALL OF FREAKIN NEPAL!!! Everyone only has the tape, or CDs w/ one or 2 songs but no CD of the album >.< the guy at Suwal said he'd get it next week... he better... >.< Then we went for dinner at Nanglos and hung out at the Java, where I met up with Samten, Marina, Nabina, and Brenna later on.
Turns out there's this party at the Chinese restaurant Chopsticks that EVERYONE was going to go to to celebrate the new years.. so of course, we had to go =P It's a pretty nice place for a party, courtyard w/ some chill spots, open terrace upstairs for the couples, and 2 dance floors and a stage inside, plus another room where the bar was. Yup, the environment wasn't too bad.. neither were the people there =D Yeah, it was one of those rare parties where there were a lot of girls, not just only guys! amazing!!! So we danced for a while, and people would go off to get a breather every now and then. While I was outside one of those times, Raph comes by with 2 wine bottles and sets them on a table outside where he's surrounded by some girls haha. So I went up and met his friend he met at the English New Year party, and met her cousins and friends, and we proceeded to finish the wine =P This was already after 3 whisky shots and some beer before heheh. After that hung out with those people that I just met mostly for the rest of the night. Quite a fun crowd. Overall, the Nepali New Year party was really fun, like a mini-english new year party (although not much could top that crazy night a few months back hehehe)
